Halloween Buckets

For my card class this week I decided to not have us make Halloween cards but instead these cute little buckets. I will be honest to say that they were a bit of a challenge. Since the buckets are curved up and not straight up and down like a paint can you have to cut the paper into strips and slightly over lap them. The hardest part really is the ribbon. But we made them work. I had a few lady's make their buckets this last Wednesday and the rest will probably make them after the Chinese holidays. I am most excited though because Jouette's teacher saw them and liked them so much that she asked me to come to the class and help them make them. So on the 28th of October I will be going to do that!!!

Teen Birthday!

I swear teenagers the the hardest people to paper craft for. Since I have a few nephews and nieces that are in the teen years now I thought I was time to break down and buy some teen things. This is what I came up with and I am very pleased. Thanks for the inspiration Splitcosters!!

Strawberry Lemonade Bars

I found this recipe on one of the food blogs that I like to read and decided to give them a try. I will admit I was a bit nervous since I have tried this ladies recipes before and not had much luck, even though hers always look fantabulous!!! But these ones really were yummy!!! I added a bit more butter since the crust didn't seem to have enough but now I am wondering if it was suppose to be that way. My filling didn't ever firm up all the way but they still tasted great. Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

It has been a long time since I last made a food post and tonight I am going to put up 2 recipes. I was feeling a sweet tooth coming on this evening and I thought no you don't need it, then I remembered that tomorrow is my first aerobics class so I decided, maybe I could indulge after all. So I made these yummy cookies! I had never made them before, I actually don't know if I have ever made any type of Oatmeal cookies, beside no bakes, before. I did use the peanuts and I enjoyed them that way but I think next time I will leave them out since the others in my family were picking them out.

The second recipe I made for dinner tonight and I forgot to take a picture but I still thought I would include it since I could have eaten the whole pan before James even came home. I have been spending over on my grocery budget in the last few months so I decided it was time to start making some more budget friendly meals. Tonight's was a pasta bake and my big complaint about baked pasta is that sometime it can be very dry. But even though James ate it almost 1-1/2 hours after the kids and I had kept it in the warm over he said it was not dry at all. I used the Ragu Marinara sauce but just use the spaghetti sauce your family likes. Hope you get a chance to give it a try!!

Missing cards from yesterday

Long time coming

It has been a very busy summer and I am hoping to get back into blogging. Here are the first set of cards that we will be making at my first card class in September. We will be doing 5 children's birthday cards and 5 feminine birthday cards. I have not finished the later but when I do I will post them. Those who are attending the class can choose between the boy colors: Ballet blue, Ruby red, Gable green, and Barely banana, or the girl colors: Gable Green, Green Galore, Pink Passion, and Pixie pink. I have only made the one set of examples in the girl colors. Sad that they happen to be Zekaia's birthday party invites. He choose the colors and I thought oh they are going to be mostly green it will be fine. But when they were done they are really girl, but oh well he loves them anyway. Why is it girls can get away with sooooo many more colors. Hope you enjoy them.

Well it has been awhile since I last posted. We are in the states and you all know how vaction time can be. We have been busy run, run, running. But hopefully I will finish one of the cards I have been working on and get a picture posted.
