4 1/4"x4 1/4" Christmas cards

I made the card on the upper right as invitations for Jouette's friends from school to come over and make cookies. It turned out so well I decided to try making a few more. I used Stamp'in up paper, inks, and ribbon. Designer series Dashing, I think it is from last years catalog. But then I used Real Red, Old Olive, and Mellow Moss solid sheets cardstock. Then I have used the stamp sets Tis the season, Holiday Spirit, Short and sweet, and So Many Scallops. Ribbon is old Olive 5/8"and double stiched River Rock.

The Holidays are here!

Wow this year seems to have flown by this year. Today I really got in the Christmas spirit and made some Orange Rolls. They were warm and delicious, even the kids ate them right up.

I have included a picture and the recipe for those who would like to try them.

Orange Rolls
Scald together in pan:1 stick butter or margarine1 c. milk1/2 c. sugar Let it cool.

Mix together:1/3 c. warm water1 yeast packet (or 1 TBS yeast)3 beaten eggs1 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients together with a spoon and add:4 1/2 c. flour Mix well then continue adding flour until you get a soft dough.Let rise until double in size, approx. 1 hour.

Punch dough down and roll out like you would cinnamon rolls...long and flat about 3/4" thick.

Filling:2 TBS Orange rind (or grated rind of two oranges)1 stick of margarine or butter1 c. sugar
½ c. orange juice Cook over stove and let bubble about 2 minutes. Let cool until thickened but still quite warm.

Pour filling over the dough, spread over evenly, and roll up the dough and slice like you would cinnamon rolls.

Let rise about 30 minutes, bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. These are best cooked in muffin pans.

Glaze:Powdered sugarOrange juice

I love the Christmas time of year. Last year I tried to make something everyday from the day after thanksgiving to Christmas day but since I was pregnant with Bhavik I didn't get too far. Since I was in the hospital from the 14th-17th and then I was on bed rest. So this year I am not doing something everyday but there will be plenty of baking and I will post picture and recipes of everything I make.

I'm so Lucky
