Long time

Wow it has been along time since I made a post. It doesn't help that our Internet has been so slow and the VPN has hardly worked. Or that my Sister was staying with us, or that I happened to start a new hobby and that has taken all my time. I am now in the states so maybe I will find some time to card make or make some fun food. Well to tell you a little bit about my new hobby. I started taking Bollywood dance classes in April and it has taken over my life. I have completely fallen in love with it, not to mention that it is a fabulous cardio workout. I have learned two dances and have preformed once with the group of ladies that are in the class. I hear that we have been invited to perform in September too so I will be hopefully learning two more dances. If I figure out how I will try and post the video of our performance.

cupcakes

Zekaia was treat last week for Family Home Evening and I have been wanting to try making these cupcakes I had at a ward party a few month ago. They are Chocolate cupcakes that you cut a cone shape into the top. Then you scoop some raspberry jam into the inside followed by a spoon of double cream. Then you put the top back on. They sprinkled them lightly with some cocoa powder but I did half with cocoa powder and the other half with powdered sugar. Yummy! We all enjoyed them!

Card

Here is a card I made for my nephew's 20th birthday. I am really sad because I was looking for the invitations I made for Jouette's birthday party next week and realized that I didn't take any picture of the before we gave them out. Oh well too late. My VPN has not worked in 3 weeks so I have been unable to post anything and honestly since my sister is here visiting me I haven't had the time to make a post any ways.

Kid Birthday card Stationary box

Front of box
Inside view

Flower tags

3x3 note cards

I wanted to keep the cards simple so they are all the same layout.

I can't sell this box because when I was making it I made a mistake and glued down a part wrong then had to rip the box apart to fix it but oh well Jouette didn't care so I told her she could have it and I will just give the cards out myself.

Girl Birthday Cards

I made this card for a birthday party that Jouette attended today. The one below is for a party she is attending next Saturday.
The card below is one that I made for a party that Zekaia attended last weekend. I just love cupcakes and am a bit sad that it has taken me so long to get this set out and use it. I have had it for almost two years. Oh well it will be seeing ink a lot here in the future I think!

Father's Day Cards

I know that Mother's Day is first but I thought I would get around to the Mother's Day cards and I just ran out of time. It helped that there wasn't enough interest in last months class that I ended up cancelling it. So I never made the Mother's Day cards. Oh well I can't take time back so I am just going to press forward. The middle card is my favorite but I made several of the bottom one since it was simple to put together. These three cards and more like it will be available for purchase at Tai Tai on Wednesday.

Way behind Some of James recent baking

James made this beautiful cake a few Sunday's ago. The thick chocolate frosting on top is delicious and the butter cream filling was my favorite part.

These chocolate Easter eggs are filled with a peanut butter filling!

Wedding cards

This one is my favorite. I just love this layout. I have used it in so many cards and it just works so well. I am also very in love with this paper. I believe it is from a package called Night and Day and it is just beautiful! This card is a bit different but I am happy with the way it turned out. I love the big, thick ribbon but I have a hard time using it on cards. But for this card I made it the focal point and in the end it gave me the results I was looking for.
This one the layout is simple and I like it but I am almost wondering if my designer paper choice was not the best for a wedding card. Maybe if you knew these were the wedding colors then it might work better.
Last but not least, this was the very first card I made for this class and I have wanted to use this stamp for a while but I really don't know anyone getting married so I have not made many wedding cards. I have at least 5 wedding stamp sets that I have hardly used but I hope at some point to see more weddings. I am just at a point in my life where all my friends are now married but none of us have children old enough to get married. Living over seas doesn't help that when I do know someone getting married it is just too easy to order the gift from their registry since I can't make it to the wedding. Oh well enough of my rambling.

Graduation cards

This weeks card class was graduation and wedding cards. Here are the graduation cards that I made. It worked out that some people only wanted to make graduation cards and other only wedding so I will post picture of the wedding cards when I finish them all.

I just love these little flowers. The were a little tricky but then the whole point of the class is learning to do a few new tricks!

Kids Easter Baskets + Exciting news!

Well I finally got around to getting the kids Easter baskets made this year. I made a sample one a few weeks ago for my card class and now here are the ones I made for my kids. This one above is for Jou if you couldn't already guess. She also wanted the one I made for the card class I told her she would have to buy it if she really wanted it. I thought for sure this would drop the subject and she would just choose the one she liked best but she really wanted them both cuz she got out her money and paid me the 35rmb for the second one. Don't ask me what she is going to do with two since I told her the Easter bunny only leaves one basket of treats per person. This one is Kaia's This one is Xman's
And last but not least Bhavi's basket.
Oh and now for the exciting news. Starting sometime next week if you live in Beijing you will be able to purchase my paper products at the Tai Tai store!!!

Thanks for looking!

Easter Project

This basket is one of the things we are doing at this weeks class. I made this one for Jouette and I still need to make one for each of the boys. I really am in love with these colors.

These next few cards are what I am planning on sending as my yearly cards this year. For my class they can select two of them to make with the basket. I am still working on the last small project for this weeks class. I will post pictures when it is done:)

Halloween Accordion book

So here is the Halloween book I made. I am completely in love with it, but then I would say Halloween is my favorite holiday! I think we will definately be making these again next October for my card class!

Valentine's accordion book

Sorry these are not in order but my Internet has been patchy and I don't want to risk having to start all over just to put the picture in order. I know Valentines is over but I made this book last week and finished putting it together this week. I have a Halloween one I made the week before that I will post as soon as I can. I am thinking about doing a Easter one too. Guess I will see how much time I end of having. Thanks for looking!
