Truffle Cherries

These little chocolate's might not look like much but they are some of the best chocolate covered marchino cherries I have every had. They were very easy and best of all no waiting weeks for the fondent to go liquid. You can eat these babies after and over night in the fridge or cool place.
Here is the link to the recipe:
Enjoy!

Upsy Daisy Showcase

I have decided that I want to have a booth at the ISB Spring Fair this coming May so I have officially begun to prepare. I have made 27 card with this stamp set in the last 5 days and am not ready to move on to the next set.
This card pictured above was my last one and one of my favorite. The paper is just right and the layout worked really well.

This card above is probably my next favorite.

These ones I am very happy with and they flew together. I love it when simple a nice work together!

Rose Garden Tea Party

Well here is the invitaion for this years Winter tea party. Jouette wanted to call it Rose Garden so I made a invitation that refected the name. I usually make card type ones but this idea I saw as an actual wall hanging but I thought it would make a nice card. I wanted to be able to see the flowers. So often they get covered up and you can't see all the work that went into them. I stamped almost all the images with black ink then colored them in with watercolor crayons. Then I used a blender pen to smooth the crayon into a nice color.
I will post more pictures of the tea party once we have it on the 7th of January.

Homemade Ravioli

I found the recipe for these homemade ravioli on another blog that I follow. I love homemade pasta so I decided to give them a try. We really loved them!

They were a bit of work but the lady on the other blog said to plan two hours to make them. It didn't take me more than an hour. You do need to make two recipes if the pasta dough to use all the filling recipe. I filled mine with spinach, mushrooms, and ricotta cheese. But you can fill them however your family would like them best. There are all kinds of fill recipes out there. I want to try a pumpkin filling some time;)

Here is the link to the blog where I got the recipe:

Xijvien is one!

Wow my baby has just turned one, well it has been a few weeks now. I have been slow to get things posted since this has been such a busy month. I forget just because the kids are out of school that this doesn't mean that my life is any less crazy. In some ways it is more crazy, just a different kind.
Well I can not take credit for this amazing cake but my dear husband James made and decorated this cake. But I did want to show it off. I can hardly wait to see what he does for Bhavik's big number three birthday in the next week. Hope to get on and post some more of my current projects soon!

Turkey and Christmas countdown calendar

Here is the turkey we made for our Thanksgiving feast. We mailed out the tail feathers to family and asked them to write what they are thankful for on them and then mail them back to us. I was nervous because the day before Thanksgiving we only had about 9 feathers but that evening while we were making pies a neighbor brought us over a package from my Mom with all the rest of them in it!!
Here is my family Christmas countdown calendar. My card class will be making one here in a few weeks but theirs will only be a 12 day count down. Will post pictures when we are done.

Nugget Boxes

I saw a set of these Hershey nugget boxes on Splitcoaststampers a long time ago but didn't ever get around to making them until now. I wanted something to give to the sisters I visit teach that was cute but wouldn't need to be kept forever. So as I was browsing through my pages of saved projects I want to try out I decided it was time for these ones.

At first I knew there were three people I wanted to give them to, so I bought three bags of Hershey nuggets and found I had enough chocolates to make four 24 day count down calendars. But when I first went to my instructions they had made theirs with only 3 nuggets in a box. But then they listed a pattern for several other sizes. Of coarse I couldn't find a pattern for the 24 box but I did see one for 12. So I decided that if I made the 12 piece boxes then I could give them to double the people.

There were some extra chocolate in the packages so I let my kids eat a few of them, only to later find out that I had miss counted and was now three chocolates shy. So I went back and bought one more package of chocolates.

I was so excited with how they were turning out I decided that I wanted to make some in different sizes since now I had more chocolate. It was then that I found the pattern for the 24 piece nugget box. Oh well I am so much happier that I have made all these different sizes. In the end I made eight 12 piece boxes, three 6 piece boxes (in two different shapes), and four 4 piece boxes (in two different sizes.)

If the chocolate wasn't $5.50 a bag I think I would go out and buy some more and keep going. I am just soooooo in love with them. If you want the pattern to go the link below. The first box took me quite a long time since the instructions seemed backwards to me but maybe you will have an easier time. But after the first one I was able to put almost all the rest together in about 2 hours. If you do make them take pictures and post them somewhere for me to see!!

Recent cards

I wanted some simple and easy to put together and these are what I came up with.

I bought this big circle punch and wanted to give it a try. This Upsy Daisy stamp set is one of my favorites!

This card below was the one that I made for Zekaia's teacher at school. I really love the dalia fold flowers they are a bit of work but they are so worth it.

RS Christmas cards

It has been a long time since I made Christmas cards since a few years back I got tired of always making Christmas and so I have been working my way around the year with different holiday cards. I had forgotten how much fun Christmas cards could be.
I was asked to have a card class for our next RS activity and there three cards are what I can up with. They are 4x4" cards that are made with the Stamp'in up paper called Christmas Cocoa. I just love the 4x4 size of cards!

Jouette's class buckets!

A few days before Halloween I went to Jouette's 2nd grade class and we decorated these buckets. Since my kids attend and international school in China they do not celebrate any holidays except the Chinese holidays. So instead of calling them Halloween buckets we just made buckets and the kids were offered a variety of paper to choose from instead of just Halloween paper. I was very impressed by how well the kids did. They all seemed to enjoy themselves and the buckets turned out pretty darn cute!

3x3 note cards and box

These cute little owl boxes will be what my card class will be making next. They will make a box and ten of the 3x3" cards.
I just fell in love with this little owl punch, he is a bit of work putting them together but so worth it.

A friend had a baby last Friday and I wanted to take her something simple when I took dinner over. I had just finished the owl cards and so I thought this would be perfect! I was so excited with how they turned out.

Thank You cards

Look familiar? Well I decided as much as I loved the 6x6 card envelopes are hard to come by so I made the same card in a 4-1/4x5-1/2 version. I am also quite happy with how it turned out.

I have a heart punch and it seemed like Jouette was the only one making any use of it so I decided to give it a try. The card is easy to make and I was happy with how it turned out.

This card I made as a practice for a friend who moved away but ended up making a 6x6 one since we had a fair amount of people who needed to sign it. This one is the one that started it all for this series of cards. I just love the grey ribbon and have been wanted to use it.

I was looking for simple this time around since my last card class was a bit more difficult than I thought it should be.

Last but not least. This card I made at a card class in the states. I have loved the impression pad and wanted to use it. Thanks Janell for the idea!

I'm so Lucky
